Kolawole Emmanuel, affectionately known as “Coach Drey,” the head coach of Ibadan-based professional football club, Adeyemi FC, has been honored with the title of Coach of the Tournament in the recently concluded Oyo State Federation Cup 2024.
The announcement came following the final match on Sunday, March 31, 2024, held at Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
Additionally, Ogunbode Timothy, the versatile winger for Adeyemi FC, clinched the title of Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Expressing his gratitude after the accolade, Coach Drey praised the competition’s organizers and applauded his team’s outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
“This recognition is truly humbling, and I extend my appreciation to my dedicated players who showcased exceptional talent from start to finish. We remain committed to nurturing future stars and continually improving at every level. Special thanks to the Oyo Football Association and our fans, both locally and internationally,” he stated.
Despite a loss to Shooting Stars with a solitary goal in the semi-finals, Adeyemi FC displayed commendable performances, triumphing over Achievers F.A and Saki United earlier in the tournament.
The debut display by Adeyemi FC in the Oyo Federation Cup garnered widespread admiration from sports enthusiasts across Oyo State.
