Karim Adeyemi Foundation (KAF) is a charitable organization committed to using the power of sports and education to drive positive change, promote inclusivity, and create opportunities for young people. Through various initiatives, KAF fosters academic excellence, physical activity, and community development, empowering the next generation to reach their full potential.

One of our flagship programs is the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) Essay Competition, an annual event that encourages students in public secondary schools across Oyo State to explore the role of sports in fostering social inclusion, peace, and development. The competition not only recognizes and rewards outstanding young minds but also strengthens collaboration between educational institutions, sports organizations, and key stakeholders in shaping a brighter future.

By leveraging the transformative power of sports, KAF is dedicated to leveling the playing field—creating equal opportunities for all, regardless of background. Through this competition, we aim to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and active participation in building a more inclusive society.

Essay Competition Timeline

Expression of Interest Phase

Monday, February 10 – Friday, March 7, 2025
4 Weeks
Students submit their essays or poems on the topic “Leveling the Playing Field: Sport for Social Inclusion.” Submissions can be made via email, the competition website, or designated CBT centres across Ibadan

Selection of Finalists

Monday, March 24, 2025
2 Weeks
A panel of judges will review submissions based on originality, creativity, and relevance. Selected finalists will advance to the next stage.

Finals (Computer-Based Test – CBT Essay Writing)

Saturday, April 5, 2025
4 hours
Finalists will write an essay on a related topic at designated CBT centres in Ibadan. The topic will be revealed on the day of the competition.
