Qualify with an Excellent Essay

Qualifications

For your essay to be valid, the following criteria must be met

Form

Essay (max. 500 words, excluding references)

Language

Only essays written in the English language will be considered valid.

Deadline

All participants must submit their essays on or before 15th of May at 11:59 PM

Individuality

The essay must be an original, individual work created solely for this contest. Collaborative work is not permitted. The author is expected to develop their own idea and present it in the essay.

Plagiarism

In the essay, all sources must be appropriately cited and referenced to the relevant parts of the text. Plagiarism will be checked, and any contribution found to be in violation of this rule will be disqualified.

Topic

We seek creative and compelling essays addressing the main theme “Uniting a Nation: The Role of Football in Promoting Social Inclusion and National Peace in Nigeria.”

Chief Judge

Ajibola Salami is a successful Estate Management businessman, prolific writer, sports enthusiast, and philanthropist.
He is well-known for his critical and unconventional views on Religion, Politics, and Education, which he shares on social media and his website, Ajispeaks.net.

In his leisure time, he also engages with his audience in discussions about football leagues.
Ajibola Salami resides in London, UK, with his spouse and children.

Victor Olaoye

Judge

Victor Olaoye is a PhD candidate in International History and Politics at The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland

Adedapo Karimat

Judge

Adedapo Karimat is a certified rehabilitation counsellor and a professional teacher licenced by the teachers registration council of Nigeria. She works as students counsellor in a public secondary school in Lagos state.

Adepeju Prince

Judge

Adepeju Prince is an award-winning middle school Physics and maths teacher with extensive teaching experience in various grade levels. As a doctoral student and graduate research assistant at Kent State University, she is dedicated to science teacher education research and has organized writing competitions for teachers, with winners receiving financial rewards.
